ECO-AGRO TOURISM IN CYPRUS

On the shore of the Mediterranean sea of North Cyprus Eco-Agro Tourism is very developed. Professional photographers like to come here.

North Cyprus has excellent beaches. Very popular in North Cyprus are hotspots around Kyrenia. Throughout the
Karpaz region, around Famagusta and on the northern and southern coasts there are golden sandy beaches and clear blue waters.

ALAGADI BEACH in North Cyprus is about 17 km to the east of Kyrenia. Only here you can meet two main species of sea-turtles - the loggerhead and the green turtle. Both are listed as endangered species and each of them is under strict protection. They have been  nesting along the coast for about 200 million years. Their future is less certain with just 300 or so green turtles left in the Mediterranean and about a thousand loggerheads.

During summer months June, July and August, the green and loggerhead turtles lay their eggs on this beach. It is popular beach for local families who spend their day at Alagadi having picnics on the beach and fishing off the rocks.

At the landing site of the Turkish Paratroopers the
ESCAPE BEACH in Northern Cyprus is situated. It is probably the most popular beach in Kyrenia of Northern Cyprus for tourists throughout the season. You can choose to sunbathe on the upper level grass section which has a bar and loud music, or on the sandy beach very near to the sea.

The beds are comfortable and large soft cushions are provided for additional comfort. The waiters walk constantly up and down so you needn’t to move if you'd like to have a cold drink or a snack.

One of the oldest established beaches in North Cyprus is
DENIZ KIZI, it has two hotels and a large swimming pool. GOLDEN BAY BEACHES in North Cyprus will give you relaxed family atmosphere and crystal clear sea. Several water sports are also available at reasonable prices here.

ACAPULCO BEACH in Northern Cyprus becomes popular with tourists for its large aqua park and sports facilities, it has one of the best beaches on the island.

MARE MONTE AND CAMELOT BEACHES in North Cyprus are secluded, picturesque coves set against a backdrop of lush greenery. The walk down the steps to the beach offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean through a variety of trees and plants.

Many visitors like to spend holiday right here. The beach is quiet and perfect for those who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is a hotel which has breathtaking views of the mountain village of Lapta and the Mediterranean.

There are several caves in Northern Cyprus that you are free to explore. The Hot Cave is located in the north of Agirdag village on the southern slopes of the Five Finger Mountains. There are three  more caves in the Gazi Magusa but the most beautiful
Cave in North Cyprus is Incirli Cave, a hundred meter long passage which contains an amazing collection of stalactites and stalagmites.

There is one
National Park in Northern Cyprus in the Karpaz Peninsula. Here a large number of birds, wild donkeys, turtles, rare flora and amazingly beautiful beaches can be found.

Most amazing flowers in North Cyprus are orchids which attract thousands of tourists to come over.
Orchids in Northern Cyprus for about 32 confirmed species of this exotic flower. Some of them will be good addition for collection to botanists.

Most of them visit the
Herbarium of Northern Cyprus, which charms lovers of our wild flowers. The herbarium in North Cyprus is housed in the Alevkaya Forest Station on the mountain ridge between Esentepe and Degirmenlik. It can be reached either by mountain road or by a lower tarmac road or by coastal road through Karaagac or Esentepe.

Northern Cyprus has less pollution industry in comparison with any other parts of the world. Fifty one people per square kilometres give additional protection to wildlife, natural beauties and the endemic birds. It is possible to watch 347 different species of
Bird in North Cyprus. 119 of 347 birds that can be observed on the island are of winter-migrant breeder type, and 90 of these migrate to Cyprus regularly every winter-time.

Wildlife in Northern Cyprus is also proud  of 26 different species of reptile and amphibian and idle donkeys that live in the tranquil parts of the Karpaz.

From mid March until the end of November the season for
Fishing in North Cyprus is open. Fishing has become a distinguished feature of this area and the eastern part of the harbour holds the area for local and foreign residents to moor their boats there. Apart from Kyrenia, the most developed fisheries of North Cyprus are those of Guzelyurt and Famagusta region, particularly the Karpaz peninsula.
